List of Christmas Songs
From HymnWiki
Revision as of 15:42, 10 August 2007 by Haruo (talk | contribs) (Christmas Hymns moved to List of Christmas Songs: If this becomes an article in addition to the list involved, it will be thoroughly unwieldy. By specifically naming it a "List" I hope to stave this off.)
Of course no list of Christmas hymns and carols can be complete; new ones are written each year. This list is only meant as a beginning; other lists include the Indexes at The Hymns and Carols of Christmas and The Cyber Hymnal™. Songs not originally in English are listed by common English translation when one is known, with the original language indicated by parenthetical abbreviation following (e.g. (la) = Latin, (de) = German, etc.). [A] indicates an Advent song, [E] an Epiphany song, etc. [S] indicates a secular, pagan or irreligious song; [P] indicates a parody. Common titles that differ from the incipits are given in some cases.
