In the United States, Mother's Day is traditionally celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Although in most denominations it is not part of the church calendar per se, because it falls on Sunday, and because it is frequently marked by higher attendance at worship (e.g. as adult children, who live elsewhere or perhaps do not usually go to church at all, come home and "go to church with Mom") and more visitors than usual, it is often noted in some way in the service, and some hymnals provide hymns specifically geared to this celebration.
