I'm curious if there is a tune extant for this intriguing, metrically challenging text, which is also in the 1835 hymnal. It reminds me somehow of one of my favorites from the Southern Harmony, "His Voice as the Sound of the Dulcimer Sweet", though the similarity is not actually great on close inspection. --Haruo 00:09, 21 July 2007 (MDT)

I've discovered that a tune they may have sung to this was Weary Pilgrim's Consolation. See this link. Veramet 14:23, 21 July 2007 (MDT)
Sorry, I had the wrong meter on there, for a while. Veramet 18:05, 21 July 2007 (MDT)
This tune was also in Southern Harmony, 1835; many hymns used in the early LDS church came from this book.
