Definition

On HymnWiki, a hymnist is someone who does any of the following:

  • writes hymn lyrics
  • composes hymn tunes
  • arranges hymns (music or lyrics)
  • adapts hymns (music or lyrics)
  • translates hymn lyrics
  • things very similar to the above

Note that the Poets category is for all lyricists (whether or not they are musical), writers of hymns, songs and regular poetry.
