Lyrics from A Collection of Sacred Hymns for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Europe, 1840

Hymn 91
C.M.
1. Once more we come before our God,
Once more his blessing ask;
O may not duty seem a load,
Nor worship prove a task!

2. May we receive the word we hear,
Each in an honest heart;
And keep the sacred treasure there,
Nor ever with it part.

3. Awake, O heavenly wind, awake!
Refreshing breezes blow;
Let every plant thy power partake,
And all the garden grow.

4. Revive the parched, with softening showers;
The cold, with warmth divine;
The benefit shall all be ours;
Be all the glory thine.

5. Come, guilty souls, and flee away
To Christ, and heal your wounds;
This is the welcome gospel-day,
Wherein free grace abounds.

6. God loved the world, and gave his Son,
To drink the cup of wrath:
And Jesus says, he'll cast out none,
That come to him by faith.
