Lyrics from A Collection of Sacred Hymns, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1841

Hymn 157
L.M.
1. O Lord, our Father let thy grace
Shed its glad beams on Jacob's race,
Restore that long lost scattered band
And call them to their native land.

2. Their mis'ry let thy mercy heal,
Their trespass hide, their pardon seal;
O God of Israel hear our pray'r,
And grant that they thy love may share.

3. How long shall Jacob's offspring prove
The sad suspension of thy love,
And shall thy wrath perpetual burn
And yet thou ne'er to them return?

4. Thy quick'ning Spirit now impart,
Awake to joy each grateful heart,
While Israel's rescued tribes in thee,
Their bliss and full salvation see.
