Lyrics:
:How have the nations grown corrupt!
:How from their natural use,
:Men their life-giving powers pervert
:By wanton, lewd abuse.
:The holy ties of wedded life,
:Are branded with the shame.

:Is there no hope? There is! While men
:Rush on from bad to worse,
:Jehovah speaks, lest all the earth
:Be smitten with a curse; --

:He, who one talent has abused,
:Hear it! ye sons of men,
:Shall lose it, and it shall be given
:To him who improves ten.
:"Through him who holds the sealing power,
:Ye faithful ones, who heed
:Celestial laws, take many wives,

Do you by chance know the laws on quoting full copyrighted texts of hymns without permission? It seems it might be fine, since people seem to do it all the time, but I'm not sure. I know you need permission for the sheet music itself, though.

I don't. The way that wikipedia does that is that it has a policy page to make sure to get permission from people for stuff. We could do that, too, and then if people complain then remove their hymn until permission is obtained. You may look in the legal disclaimers of some of the popular song lyric repositories. I think that would have infomration that would be valuables. Please sign your talk posts with four tildes. Swampthings 14:14, 12 April 2007 (MDT)

Current Lyrics
1. Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of God's redeeming love.

2. Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I’m come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

3. O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

2. Sorrowing I shall be in spirit,
Till released from flesh and sin,
Yet from what I do inherit,
Here Thy praises I’ll begin;
Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Here by Thy great help I’ve come;
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood;
How His kindness yet pursues me
Mortal tongue can never tell,
Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me
I cannot proclaim it well.

5. O that day when freed from sinning,
I shall see Thy lovely face;
Clothed then in blood washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away;
Send thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless day.

Whistles are long cylindrical instruments, with six holes (none on the bottom), just over a two octave range, meant to be played by a single player, unless of course it is around the low Ab range, or lower (in which case, the holes are too large and far apart for a single player to cover them). Whistles generally come in two varieties: pennywhistles (aka tin whistles), and low whistles (these are exactly like pennywhistles, only larger and lower in pitch). Recorders are not whistles, although recorders and whistles share many things in common: fipples, open holes. . . . Whistles can be made out of almost any hard material (plastic, metal, cane, etc.)

Typically, whistles are used in Celtic music - however, they tend to make appearances elsewhere (soundtrack music, music of almost any genre except for classical, etc.) and are often mistaken for flutes, despite the characteristic differences, though all whistles do not sound precisely the same.

The hymn endings game or HGE, also called the "in the game", is a jovial and somewhat juvenile, game that allows one to jive silently to the Hymns of Jehovah, and while sipping java, in churches that provide coffee.

This game is typically played during the non-musical part of a religious service, and is done while thumbing through the hymnal. This is best done with two or three total people, but can be done in solitude.

The procedure is to read the hymn title, and then add a seemingly innocuous phrase at the end of the hymn title. For example, the innocuous phrase could be "in the outhouse." Then the person or people playing the HGE silently read the song title and add the ending. For example A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief becomes A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief in the outhouse, and Master the Tempest is Raging becomes Master the Tempest is Raging in the outhouse.
